病態外科学呼吸器外科学(胸部外科学)

研究室概要

呼吸器外科診療における中心的疾患は肺癌ですが、本邦における死亡者数は毎年７万人を超えています。一方でわが国の切除例全体の５年生存率は最近10年で62％から75％まで上昇しました（肺癌登録合同委員会報告より）。
当科では内視鏡手術やロボット支援下手術などを積極的に導入し、早期の肺癌、縦隔腫瘍、転移性肺腫瘍に適応しています。一方肺癌や縦隔腫瘍の胸腺腫・胸腺癌の進行期例に対しては外科治療を含んだ集学的治療を行い、治療成績の向上を図っています。さらに、アスベスト暴露が誘因とされる悪性胸膜中皮腫の手術例が増え、わが国でも有数の治療施設となっています。
診療とあわせ、肺癌をはじめとした胸部悪性腫瘍に対する研究や、画像技術を応用した新しい手術支援システムの開発も行っています。
また、肺移植など、慢性呼吸不全に対する新たな取組みも行っていく予定です。
