Overviews

As part of the TEI project, an online clinical case discussion series of events was initiated by Nagoya University in November and December 2020. In addition to Nagoya, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Korea University participated in the organization of the program, which was offer to students from GAME partner universities in Korea, Nagoya, Hong Kong and Germany. This programme has given students from GAME universities a chance to meet and exchange experiences through virtual platform. During the discussion, students shared the management protocols in their own countries or cities in dealing with different clinical cases.

Another online Clinical Case Discussion series of events is planned for the upcoming summer

semester in May and June 2021 which will involve more GAME members and students. This time, in addition to case discussions from different clinical areas and countries, will also address differences in country-specific health systems and medical training.

This 2021, we add Monash University as participant: a total of 5 GAME partner universities will participate in the program: The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Korea University, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Monash University and Nagoya University will be part of the program.

Objectives
  • Give medical students from GAME partner universities the opportunities to meet and exchange experiences through virtual platform
  • Review medical topics through clinical case discussion
  • Give medical students information about the medical insurance system in each country/city
Eligibility
  • Medical students of senior years
  • Motivated students as students will be the one presenting the clinical case under the mentorship of respective professors

Free of charge

Final Certificate

A certificate of attendance will be given to participating students

THEME:Let's get to know the health system on different countries through a clinical case: how the health insurance works, which access can you have?

The second session of JOCCD was successfully deliver between May 25th and June 29th, 2021.

This time, 5 of our GAME-partner university helped in its organization (Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Korea University (KU), Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU), Monash university and Nagoya University). In addition to them, we had Bologna University as guest.

In this edition, we had some differences with the previous sessions, such as:

  • Presentations were done by students instead of academical staff.
  • The sessions were for 120 minutes (with a break in between) instead of 60minutes.
  • We also cover information about medical health system in each country

We have a total of 23 students participating from 6 universities (average of 4 students per university) and our sessions were delivered according to the following calendar:

The feedback from students was very positive.

We are planning to make next session during winter 202,1 hopefully this time will all GAME-partner universities.

1st Online Clinical Cases Discussion-Jointly Organized by CUHK, KU & NU

Objectives
  • Aim to give medical students from our GAME partner universities the opportunity to meet and exchange experiences through virtual platform.
  • Aim to review medical topics through clinical cases discussion.
Learning outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be expected to:

    • Expose to different styles of teaching from other universities;
    • Analyze similarities /differences in diseases manifestations when compared to their home city/country;
    • Discuss different management protocols that they use according to different cities/countries.
Format
  • 4 sessions in total: 60 minutes for each session and conducted through zoom.
  • English will be the language used in the presentation and discussion.
  • First session will be an introduction of the program, as well as introduction of the students and faculty.
  • The online program will have the rotation as follows: NU ・ KU ・ CUHK.
    • 1st session: 11/3 Welcome and introduction
    • 2nd session: 11/17 Pediatrics
    • 3rd session: 12/1 Surgery
    • 4th session: 12/15 Internal MedicineDates
    • At 6pm (Seoul, Tokyo time) / 5 pm (HK time)/ 10am (LMU)
