Nagoya University Hospital was re-accredited by JCI.

The Nagoya University Hospital (Director: Yasuhiro Kodera) was re-accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI), a nonprofit organization of evaluating and accrediting health care organizations across the globe, on March 5, 2022. The JCI was established in 1994 as the international division of the Joint Commission, the US-based health care accrediting body, with the aim of evaluating "quality of care" and "patient safety" according to global standards. The JCI is known as the most challenging accreditation body with the rigorous assessment criteria. Currently, 1,066 healthcare organizations (including 30 organizations in Japan) are accredited throughout the world. In Japan, there are four accredited university hospitals and Nagoya University Hospital is the only national university hospital to be accredited. The accreditation will be effective for three years from March 5, 2022, and will be renewed after triennial re-accreditation survey.

On February 28 through March 4, 2022, the virtual survey with five foreign surveyors was conducted in the hospital. 1,265 measurable elements in 15 categories such as "International Patient Safety Goals", "Assessment of Patients", "Care of Patients", "Prevention and Control of Infections", "Governance, Leadership and Direction", and more were rigorously surveyed.

We will continue to make everyday effort to improve so that we can provide a higher level medical care in the future.
