Fees According to Health Insurance Plan Regulations

Hospitalization charges

Patients will be charged a fixed percentage of hospitalization charges according to their health insurance plan type.
Patients with employees' (social) health insurance coverage: 30%
Patients with National Health Insurance coverage: 30% (may differ according to municipalities/associations)
Patients with post-retirement insurance coverage: 30%
Children under 6 years old (under mandatory school age): 20%

Co-payments for patient services during hospitalization for people holding Long life Medical Care System health insurance cards

A. General insured persons: 10% (maximum monthly cost per hospital/clinic: ¥44,400)
B. Insured persons with income above a certain amount: 30% (maximum monthly cost per hospital/clinic: ¥80,100 + (medical care expenses - ¥267,000) x 1%)
C. Households exempt from municipal tax (Class II): 10% (maximum monthly cost per hospital/clinic: ¥24,600)
D. Old-age welfare pension recipients (Class I): 10% (maximum monthly cost: ¥15,000)
E. Sufferers of chronic disease (maximum monthly cost per hospital/clinic: ¥10,000)

Note: The rules for the Long-life Medical Care System health insurance plan are also applied, in principle, to those holding a Certificate of older (70-74 years old) insuree issued by the Health Insurance

Standard co-payments for meal costs (per meal)

(a) General patients: ¥260
(b) Patients with income above a certain amount: ¥260
(c) Households exempt from municipal tax (Class II)
Until to the 90th day: ¥210
From the 91st day: ¥160
(d) Old-age welfare pension recipients (Class I): ¥100

Note: Those falling in categories C, D or E or (c) or (d) above are required to present their Gendogaku Tekiyo/Hyojun Futangaku Gengaku Ninteisho (Certificate for Reduced Co-Payments and meal fees) for the elderly issued by a regional association at the Inpatient Reception. If you are late submitting the certificate, you will be required to pay the regular amount of co-payments.
