About Academic Transcript:

In principle, doctoral program academic transcripts cannot be printed at convenience stores in Japan. However, if you have earned credits at another graduate school, you can print your transcript at a convenience store in Japan, but please note that the credits earned at the Graduate School of Medicine will not be listed.

Master's program academic transcripts can be printed at convenience stores in Japan for students graduating in March 2023 or later. Students who graduated before that date cannot print at convenience stores in Japan. However, if you have earned credits at another graduate school NU, you can print your transcript at a convenience store in Japan, but please note that the credits earned at the Graduate School of Medicine will not be listed.

About Certificate of Fulfillment and Certificate of Enrollment Period:

Certificate of Fulfillment and Certificate of Enrollment Period cannot be issued at convenience stores.

If an official seal is required on a form created outside of Nagoya University:

If you require an official seal on a form created outside of Nagoya University, such as a request from an academic reference agency, ECFMG, or WES, please see here.

Regarding the issuance of a degree certificate for those who are former doctoral students conducted ABD or research students have obtained a doctoral degree.

Please apply using the Certificate Issuance Service for alumni. Issuance at convenience stores is not available.

If you cannot find the certificate you want on the insurance service

If you wish to have your certificate sent by mail, select "Other Certificates" and write "Degree Certificate (Japanese or English)" in the notes section of the mailing option on the next page.
If you wish to collect the certificate at the office, select "Other Certificates" and please email the Student Affairs Division to inform them of the type of certificate after applying.

Those who obtained a doctoral degree by dissertation

If you have been enrolled as a research student (Non-Degree Seeking student), please apply using the Certificate Issuance Service.
Issuance at convenience stores is not available. Only available by mail or pick-up at the office.

Degree Certificate

*Please contact the Student Affairs Division (med◎t.mail.nagoya-u.ac.jp) with the following documents attached.
(Please send a message after replacing "◎" mark with "@" mark. )

  1. Application Form
  2. Copy of identification (showing your name and address)
  3. Mailing address
    *Please include this in the body of your email. This is not necessary when you pick up the certificate at the Student Affairs Division Office
  4. If your name is different from when you were a student, please submit a document that certifies the fact.
  5. If you need the thesis title to be stated on the certificate, please write so in the comments section.

The office will provide you with payment instructions for the certificate fee, issuance fee, etc. after your application. (The applicant is responsible for any bank transfer fees.)
Please note that the certificate will only be issued after payment of the issuance fee (including postage) has been confirmed, so it may take some time.

Notes

  •  If you are currently enrolled at Nagoya University and would like to have a certificate issued for a course you previously enrolled in, you can print one free of charge from the automatic certificate issuing machines located on campus.
  • Certificates issued at convenience stores cannot be sealed. If you wish to have your certificate sealed, please select "by mail" or "pick up at the Student Affairs Division Office" as your receiving method.
  • If your name is different from when you were a student, please write your name when you were a student on the application form, as well as your current name, and submit a document that certifies the fact that you have changed your name.
    *Certificates can only be issued using the name when you were a student.
