Integrated Medicine (October intake)

MEXT Scholarship Admission (University Recommendation, Special Selection), PhD Program for Fostering Medical Science Research Leaders: Integrating Bioscience and Information Science to Generate Next-Generation Research

The Graduate School of Medicine of Nagoya University has been selected as a special program by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of the Japanese government. We will accept applications for international students (research students) who seek a PhD degree in Medicine as follows.

Eligibility review for application	November 12(Wed.), 2025
Application Filing Period	January 6 (Tue.) to January 14 (Wed.), 2026
Interview	in late January 2026
Enrollment	October 1, 2026

Eligibility review for application

Those who fall under Eligibility review for application prescribed by "2026 Application for Admission" must contact the Student Affairs Division (iga-ryu@t.mail.nagoya-u.ac.jp) and submit the "Forms for Eligibility Review" and determined documents by November 12, 2025.

2026 Application for Admission

Applicants need to fulfill an academic GPA 2.30 or higher (which is designated by MEXT) in a transcript. About the GPA (Grade Point Average) in MEXT standard, please see page 7 of "Application for Admission".

Applicants residing in Japan may also apply, but must follow the "Application for Admission" below. If you have any questions, please contact the Student Affairs Section.

Applicants must make a pre-application inquiry regarding research projects to a research laboratory to which they wish to belong to receive supervision for their doctoral thesis and get approval to apply for admission from them before submitting application documents.

Global 30 International Programs (for international students)

Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine offers October admission through the framework of the Global 30 International Program.
Applicants can take the examination from their home countries by using Zoom, etc.

Preliminary Screening Deadline (Only those are applicable.)	November 14(Fri.), 2025
Application Filing Period	January 6 (Tue.) to January 14 (Wed.), 2026 (no later than 4:00 pm)
Selection Method	Document screening and interview (Zoom, etc.) will be conducted.
Announcement of Admission Results	March 19(Thu.), 2026
