Report of the 6th Research Project Meeting and the 3nd Retreat in Urayasu.

The 6th research meeting and the 3rd retreat of “Brain Protein Aging and Dementia Control” were held at Sunroute Plaza Tokyo on June 2 (Fri) and 3 (Sat), 2017.

First, Dr. Gen Sobue, leader of this program, made a few words, followed by Dr. Katsuhiko Mikoshiba, external evaluator and Dr. Takayoshi Suganami, academic investigator. Seven group leaders reported progresses of their research. Addition to the present public offering researchers, those who newly joined demonstrated progresses of their research and future prospective in the forms of flash talk and poster presentation. All of them exchanged their views about each research theme and obtained fruitful information about the possibilities of future collaborative research.

For the past 2 years, the retreat was very popular, and we were glad to finish the 3rd retreat successfully on Friday, June 2.
Dr. Atsushi Miyawaki of Riken talked about his research under the theme of “The interplay between light and life”. All participants were glad to hear the cutting-edge research activities. Another remarkable event was to introduce research techniques, which can be shared in our research field. Many researchers participated in the 3rd retreat and they exchanged their views and information actively into the night.

One hundred four researchers participated in the 6th research meeting and the 3rd retreat for 2 days. We greatly appreciated your active participation, discussion and cooperation as usual.
