OUTLINE

Our laboratory aims to elucidate the complex neural mechanisms underlying emotional behavior and to advance the understanding of psychiatric disorders and the development of therapeutic strategies. We study socio-emotional functions such as anxiety-related responses, vigilance behaviors, and inequity aversion using mouse models. To this end, we integrate brain-wide activity and circuit mapping, in vivo calcium imaging, multi-bundle imaging, and optogenetic and chemogenetic approaches, and analyze brain network dynamics across multiple levels.

RESEARCH PROJECTS

  • Pathophysiological mechanisms of stress-related psychiatric disorders
  • Neural mechanisms underlying vigilance and inequity aversion
  • Elucidating the pathophysiological mechanisms of neurodevelopmental disorders
  • Mechanisms and therapeutic applications of transcranial magnetic stimulation–based brain interventions
