Description |
In June of Meiji year 12 (1879), the course of study at Aichi Prefectural Medical School was lengthened from a three-year course of six semesters to a four-year course of eight semesters, and the enrollment age was raised from 15 to 17; it thus changed from a secondary education to a higher education institution. Then, due to the Specialized College Ordinance in March of Meiji year 36 (1903), and the announcement of the Regulations Concerning Public and Private Specialized Colleges , it was renamed "Aichi Prefectural Medical College" in July 1903.。
With the aim of rebuilding and relocating due to the wearing-out of the Ten'nozaki school building (Sakae 1 cho-me, Naka Ward) constructed in Meiji year 10 (1877), and of raising the College to university status in order to be able to award a bachelor's degree, in March of Taisho year 3 (1914), it was moved the location of the current Nagoya University School of Medicine (Tsurumai-cho, Showa Ward). |
