Description This publication was launched by Nagoya's medical publisher Kansai Ikai Jiho-sha on June 7, Meiji year 45 (1912), and was edited by KAWAMURA Izumi. It is in B5 format, and was published monthly with a price tag of 8 sen. Medical review journals were limited at the time to only two or three titles such as "Chuo Iji Shinshi (New Journal of Central Medical Affairs)", all of which were published in Tokyo, and in Nagoya there were only academic journals like "Aichi Igakkai Zasshi (Journal of the Aichi Medical Association)" published.Intended to be a medical review journal for physicians in the Tokai and Hokuriku area centering around Aichi Prefecture, it is said to have been the first journal to debate issues such as local medical politics. The "Kansai (western Japan)" in the journal's title is thought to be intended as a contrast from "Kanto (eastern Japan)", to show awareness of the widespread region it covered. It suspended publication in Showa year 19 (1944), resuming in Showa year 21 (1946).
