Description KUMAGAI Konosuke (1857-1923) was born in what is today Rokugo Misato-cho, Senboku-gun in Akita Prefecture.In Meiji year 14 (1881), GOTO Shinpei, president of Aichi Medical School, had high expectations of him to shoulder responsibility for the future of the School, and KUMAGAI moved to Nagoya to begin employment as a first-class teacher. In those days, Bachelors of Medicine were highly prized, and his salary exceeded School president GOTO Shinpei's considerably. Over the next 33 years he worked as president of Aichi Medical School, Aichi Prefectural Medical College, and so on. This postcard was released on October 20, Meiji year 39 (1906) as a "celebration of 25 years in office".
