Description |
KATO Ryogoro was a native of Seto City in Aichi Prefecture.
He graduated from Aichi Prefectural Medical College in Meiji year 38 (1905) and became a physician; after this, however, he trod the path of a politician.Through the Nagoya City Council, etc., he held such jobs as Minister of Justice and Speaker of the House of Representatives.
He also assisted with the raising of Aichi Medical College to university status, and after being awarded a doctoral degree in Medicine by Nagoya Imperial University in Showa year 19 (1944) he developed the anti-smoking drug "Kin'en" in collaboration with the University. |
