In July of Meiji year 13 (1880), regulations were announced on the control of communicable diseases.According to advertisements, the initial expected printing of 1,000 copies of "Korera Sekiri Yobo-shoudoku Jisshi Tebikae" was increased to 2,000 after many customers responded to invitations for orders; orders continued to pour in, and in the end 15,000 copies were printed.It was published under the supervision of KITAZATO Shibasaburo (1853-1931).
It contains an insert addressed to the author YAGISHITA Shiko from GOTO Shinpei (1857-1929), then the administrative director of the army's temporal quarantine department (third-grade senior official).
