Description Forensic Medicine This book is comprised of transcripts of Albrecht von RORETZ's (1846-1884) lectures on forensic pathology.These lectures were open not just to students but also to private medical practitioners and police officers.RORETZ gave approximately 110 lectures from winter semester, Meiji year 12 (1879) to March the following year; they started to be serialized in the journal "Iji Shinpo (Medical Practice News)" from Volume 11, and in Meiji year 19 (1886) were compiled in one volume. RORETZ was engaged in actual trials as an expert, performing an autopsy on the exhumed body of a peasant who had been involved in an incident and of an infant.
