Description In November of Meiji year 6 (1873), a Medical Training School was opened in the Temporary Hospital, with German-American T. H. JUNGHANS (written in kanji characters as "雍翰斯") and ADACHI Moriyoshi (1836-1896) as teachers together with several other members of teaching staff. In November of Meiji year 7 (1874), JUNGHANS lectured on Physiology at the Medical Training School In February 1876, JUNGHANS' lecture transcripts were collected and named "Gensei Yoron", and were distributed to the prefecture's general practitioners and sold; in April of that year, a second volume of "Gensei Yoron" was published. The contents were a digest of physiology from Britain, America, Germany etc., and the book was Nagoya University's first academic publication.
