Nagoya University originated in Meiji year 4 (1871) with the establishment of a temporary hospital on the site of the former Nagoya domain conference chamber and a temporary medical school on that of the Nagoya town magistrate's office.
Today, the site of the temporary hospital has become the main building of the Aichi Trade Center Main Building (3 cho-me, Marunouchi, Naka Ward, Nagoya), while the site of the temporary medical school holds the West building (2 cho-me, Marunouchi). |
