Experience Report

Robert Bryant from Tulane University School of Medicine
Period:2016/4/4-2016/4/28
Department: Cardiology

I spent a month in Nagoya with the cardiology team. As I write this one week later, I am already having pangs of nostalgia. All the students and attendings and staff I met were consistently kind, enthusiastic, and helpful. I saw an incredible range of rare cardiac pathologies and was able to observe their treatment. As a student, I highly valued the exposure I received to numerous physical exam findings such as a multitude of heart murmurs. I feel this will help me immensely when I start residency. Additionally, I spent my first week with Japanese medical students beginning their clinical rotations. They were quite welcoming and hilarious people, and I valued their friendship and assistance. I was even able to watch a few of them perform an incredible hip-hop dance show. Amazing experience!
