Experience report

Name: Kittipat Kulkraisri
School: Chulalongkorn University (Thailand)
Study Period: April 7, 2025, to May 2, 2025
Departments: Geriatrics Department and Endocrinology Department

My name is Kittipat Kulkraisri, and I am currently a sixth-year medical student at the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University (International Program) in Thailand. I had the wonderful opportunity to complete a four-week elective program at Nagoya University Hospital. During this time, I spent two weeks each in the Geriatrics and Endocrinology departments.

From the very beginning, I was warmly welcomed by everyone at the hospital. The professors, doctors, and fellow students were incredibly kind, always eager to support me and involve me in the daily activities of their departments. Through their guidance, I was able to deepen my medical knowledge, enhance my clinical skills, and gain valuable insights into Japanese medical practices and culture.

Outside of my clinical experience, I was fortunate to explore the beautiful city of Nagoya during my free time. My visit coincided with the cherry blossom season, and it was truly breathtaking to see sakura in full bloom throughout the parks and lining the streets. Every corner seemed to be decorated with vibrant, colorful flowers. I also had the chance to enjoy an incredible variety of Japanese cuisine — the flavors were so exceptional that words could hardly do them justice.

Overall, this elective was an unforgettable life experience. I am especially grateful for the opportunity to connect with the wonderful doctors and medical students I met in Nagoya. I sincerely hope that our paths will cross again in the future, and I would be delighted to welcome them to Thailand someday. I am truly thankful for all the care, kindness, and support I received throughout my stay. Last, I attached my photo with the view of sakura in Nagoya.
