Clinical Exchange in Japan

This summer I applied for the clerkship program of Nagoya University. I spent 3weeks in Gastroenterological Surgery Department, and another 2 weeks in Respiratory Medicine Department. These five weeks in Nagoya University was too short to know everything, but was very meaningful and helpful. It was a wonderful experience. I really want to say thank you to every doctors and staff here.

The three weeks in Gastroenterological Surgery was interesting and meaningful. Everyday a doctor would be on duty to accompany me. They would explain the surgery when we were watching, and they also brought me to practice on surgery simulators. They were all very warm-hearted. There I met doctor Endo. She graduated in Peking University before she came to Nagoya University. How happy I was to hear mother language abroad!

On the third week, I occasionally mentioned that I chose breast surgery as my profession, and the doctors immediately communicated breast surgeons, so that I could attended two breast surgeries. It was really a surprising and meaningful clerkship. Thanks to these friendly doctors!

Then I moved to Respiratory Medicine. The doctors and researchers showed me more on theoretical knowledge and research. It was interesting to know about latest discoveries that were even not published! I really liked these doctors and researchers. they were so enthusiastic on showing me their works.

I really appreciate all the lovely doctors and staff here in Nagoya University. How I wish I could stay longer!
