Name: Pan Chuqiao
School: Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, China
Study Period: Nov. 5th 2019 - Jan. 10th 2020
Departments: plastic surgery, otorhinolaryngology, ophthalmology

I’m Pan Chuqiao, a fifth-year student of clinical medicine (8-year program) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, China. From Nov. 5th 2019 to Jan. 10th 2020, I fortunately experienced a 10-week clerkship in Nagoya University School of Medicine, during which I rotated three different apartments: plastic surgery, otorhinolaryngology and ophthalmology.

I was deeply impressed by the order and quietness in every corner of the hospital, as all the patients came at the appointed time with a recommendation letter. Not all the patients can go directly to the hospital of university, which largely released the pressure of both patients and doctors.

Except for the environment, I also experienced national conference of plastic surgery, the new testing machine of otorhinolaryngology and the simulation training of ophthalmology, receiving new knowledge and opinions from the kind doctors and teachers from the hospital of Nagoya University. I really appreciate everyone who had ever helped me in Japan. My experience in Nagoya will surely influence my future path in clinical medicine.
