Experience report

Name: Adela Wu
School: Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, USA
Study Period: 2018 4/9-4/27

The Nagoya University exchange program was highly recommended by so many classmates, and I was thrilled to get the opportunity to participate during my final year at Hopkins. From the very first day, the department warmly welcomed me. I worked alongside the residents in their busy clinics, listened to their lunchtime lectures, and even met several local medical students who were shadowing as well. The clinical and research faculty were all clearly passionate about their field and about teaching, and I felt that it was so easy to get along with them and become friends. And, it goes without mentioning that living and traveling in Japan is an incredible experience on its own. I had the chance to take weekend trips to Kyoto and Tokyo in addition to exploring Nagoya itself. In just the three short weeks I got to spend at Nagoya University and Japan, I’ve made countless memories and am definitely planning on making return trips.
